to be exhibiting alongside these two very talented artists, Bev Friesen and Gail Sawatzky. Record numbers of visitors came out during October to see the the exhibition. I'm so grateful for the abundance of positive feedback that left me feeling enthused to keep on painting. I paint because I love it, and its just a bonus when other people like it and are inspired by it too.Thank you for all the wonderful comments in my exhibition guestbook!

ARCHIVE: June - October 2009 - Exhibitions
Jury selected pieces from the 28th Annual Central Region Juried Art Exhibition 2009 went on 'tour' between June and October, making stops in Portage la Prairie, Holland, MB, Winnipeg, Morden and Carman. I am delighted that "Pause" received the People's Choice Award at this exhibition.
I had my first complete exhibition:
A Journey in Watercolour: From the Beginning" in October 2009 at the Pembina Hills Arts Center in Morden, MB. The photos are from the opening reception at the Gallery on Oct. 16th, with my son David, daughter Jessica and husband Ockie, also the fine craftsman of all the frames!
The evening buzzed with a firm crowd and a celebratory atmosphere. I was also very happy

The beautiful new, contemporary Posers Gallery in Morden, MB held their first People's Choice Exhibition from November 13th to December 5th 2009. I entered "Fall Colours" and "Harvest Time". I am thrilled to have received the People's Choice Award!

Judy Wasylycia-Leis and MSA President Bonnie Taylor hand out two HONORABLE MENTION Awards for my paintings: "Celebration" and "Purity" at the MSA 78th annual Juried Show in Winnipeg. I do feel very 'honoured'!

The visitors turned out in a steady stream to see the creative spaces of 19 area artists. I set up my "studio" in the Pembina Hills Gallery where I worked on some paintings and had some good conversations with interested fellow art lovers. Next year I hope to open up my new studio on site in what will be our new country home. All Welcome!

It's a dream come true!
After many months of planning and construction our house in the country is complete, along with an awesome creative space that I have named North Window Studio. Yes, it does have an enormous north facing window, with a view of the oak-lined creek extending to golden fields and a never-ending blue sky. Inside are walls for art and a professional hanging system and lighting. I was part of the Pembina Valley Artists' Studio Tour where the studio was open to the public - a wonderful Grand Opening it was! I have already started to work out of this peaceful and inspiring space. Thank-you to all the visitors who came out on the tour weekend! A Wonderful exhibit of Manitoba talent was held at the Pembina Hills Art Centre in May, 2011, and I was thrilled to receive the People's Choice Award for my entry of "Causing a Stir".
30th Annual Central Region Juried Art Exhibit May-Sept 2011
The Manitoba Art Expo features a number of very fine Manitoba artists at the Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg. It is an annual event and is not to be missed if you are a serious art lover! I will be exhibiting here this year, so come along and say hi. See hundreds of art originals and meet the artists.
